A Waterfall of Words

Over the last few weeks it seems as though Jakey has been progressively saying more and more every day. At least trying to, that is. It started on March 1st when Jeremy took Jakey outside to see the moon...one of their favorite things to do together...and Jakey pointed to the moon and said m-oo-n. Jeremy came running inside to tell me all about it and I must admit I was a little skeptical. Well - sure enough he was saying moon and soon the waterfall started. Next was shoe. Only he says show - like he's from the deep south saying "sho' do" or something. It's pretty funny. Then he started saying uh-oh. Like when he throws his dinner to Levi. Levi is a lucky dog. He just LOVES Jakey. I'm sure it can't have anything to do with the fact that Jakey tries to feed him everything...like this morning...Levi had a pancake breakfast! Jakey didn't like it...but Levi did. Jakey prefers asparagus or broccoli or hummus. He'll devour a fig newton or animal crackers but he really does like and prefer a big spoon of hummus. He must get that from his father - cause I'm all about a pancake breakfast. Anyhow, next on the list of words was---no. Great. Last night he repeatedly said "no" when Jeremy was wiping his face after dinner. That means he understands what the word means too because he hates having his face washed. As I am typing this he is walking into the office with one of my shoes on and the other one in his hand and a big smile on his face. For a little boy his size, walking in my shoes must be like trying on a Sasquatch's shoe. It's huge. But it sure is fun, and he sure is cute.
